I had a wonderful experience teaching English at Al Najah University for six weeks. Mrs. Louha, the head of the program, was a pleasure to work with and very professional. The students were generally eager to learn and practice their English, which helped to make my job easier. I usually teach English online to Chinese children, so it was nice to teach older students for a change. The best part of this Workaway assignment was the friendliness and hospitality of the Palestinian people, whether staff, students or total strangers. Several times the language center organized tours of the old city of Nablus, and I was also able to join a group of students for a weekend hike. I am so glad I chose to do this assignment, and I can whole-heartedly recommend this opportunity to those interested in sharing their own culture and language while learning more about the Palestinian people and their culture!
