The Language Resource Center (LRC) at An-Najah National University held its “Language Open Day” event at both the Old and New University Campuses on Monday and Tuesday, October 27 and 28, 2025. The event saw wide participation from students and members of the academic and administrative staff.
The event was attended by Dr. Abdel Salam Al-Khayyat, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and a number of representatives from embassies and international bodies. Attendees included the Korean Ambassador, the Deputy Japanese Ambassador, the Representative of the Educational Cooperation Attaché for the French Language from the Consulate General of France in Jerusalem, and the Director of the Russian House in Bethlehem.
The event featured eleven linguistic and cultural corners, covering French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Korean, Japanese, English, Arabic, German, Turkish, and Sign Language. These corners were accompanied by interactive activities, competitions, and educational games, offering students a glimpse into the culture and community of each language, including customs, traditions, and popular cuisine.
This event was organized with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of learning foreign languages as a bridge for communication between peoples, and of entrenching a culture of dialogue and understanding among different cultures.
